Sehri and Iftar Support Program – Zindgi Foundation, District Sanghar
Introduction of Zindgi Foundation – District Sanghar
Zindgi Foundation is a non-profit, humanitarian organization working in District Sanghar, Sindh, with the mission to serve underprivileged communities and promote social welfare through compassion, dignity, and Islamic values. The foundation focuses on poverty alleviation, food security, and community support, especially during critical times such as the Holy Month of Ramadan. Zindgi Foundation believes that serving humanity is one of the highest forms of worship and a practical expression of faith.
Why Zindgi Foundation Provides Sehri and Iftar to Poor People
Zindgi Foundation arranges Sehri and Iftar meals for poor and needy people because a large number of families in District Sanghar cannot afford proper food during Ramadan. Rising inflation, unemployment, and lack of basic resources make it difficult for them to observe fasting with dignity. By providing Sehri and Iftar, the foundation helps fasting individuals fulfill their religious obligation without hardship, ensuring that no one sleeps hungry during the blessed month.
Biography of District Sanghar, Sindh and Present Poverty Situation
District Sanghar is located in Sindh, Pakistan, and is primarily an agricultural area. Despite its rich land and hardworking population, the district faces severe socio-economic challenges. Many residents depend on daily wages, seasonal farming, and informal labor. Due to poverty, lack of education, limited healthcare, and unemployment, a significant portion of the population lives below the poverty line. In the current situation, inflation has worsened living conditions, making basic necessities such as food unaffordable for many families, especially during Ramadan.
- Importance of the Holy Month of Ramadan
Ramadan is the holiest month in Islam, a month of fasting, patience, prayer, charity, and self-purification. It is a time when Muslims strengthen their relationship with Allah by abstaining from food, drink, and sinful acts from dawn to sunset. Ramadan teaches empathy for the poor, self-discipline, and gratitude for blessings. It is also a month in which good deeds are multiplied many times in reward.
Reward of Providing Sehri and Iftar to Those Who Fast
In Islam, providing food to a fasting person holds great reward. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said that whoever provides Iftar to a fasting person will receive the same reward as the one who fasted, without reducing the reward of the fasting person. Offering Sehri and Iftar is considered an act of charity (Sadaqah) and a source of immense blessings. Supporting fasting individuals strengthens brotherhood and earns Allah’s mercy and forgiveness.
Importance of Helping the Poor Due to Poverty and Its Reward
Due to extreme poverty, many people are unable to meet their basic needs. Helping the poor is not only a social responsibility but also an Islamic obligation. Islam encourages Muslims to support the needy through charity, kindness, and compassion. Allah promises great reward for those who help the poor and relieve their suffering. Assisting needy families during Ramadan brings spiritual reward, inner peace, and blessings in wealth and life.
Data Collection and Sharing for Support and Transparency
Zindgi Foundation ensures transparency and accountability through proper data collection. Beneficiary data is collected through surveys, community verification, and local representatives. Records of Sehri and Iftar distribution, photographs, videos, and reports are maintained and shared with donors and supporters. This transparent system builds trust and encourages more people to support the cause, ensuring long-term sustainability of humanitarian efforts.
The Sehri and Iftar Support Program of Zindgi Foundation, District Sanghar, is a noble initiative rooted in Islamic teachings and humanitarian values. By supporting the poor during Ramadan, the foundation not only fulfills a religious duty but also restores dignity, hope, and unity within the community. Collective support from donors and well-wishers can help spread blessings and ensure that no fasting individual is left hungry.
