  1. Project Background

District Badin is one of Sindh’s major agricultural areas where tomatoes are produced in large quantities. Unfortunately, due to the absence of local food processing industries, a significant portion of tomato crops is wasted each year. Farmers are often forced to sell their produce at extremely low prices during peak seasons.

This project proposes the establishment of a Tomato Ketchup Processing Factory near Khoski City to convert local tomatoes into ketchup, sauces, and tomato paste. This initiative will support local farmers, reduce food waste, create employment, and provide affordable ketchup products to nearby towns and markets.

  1. Project Objectives
  2. To establish a small-scale Tomato Ketchup Factory in District Badin.
  3. To reduce tomato wastage by converting surplus produce into value-added products.
  4. To create employment opportunities for at least 15–20 people (directly and indirectly).
  5. To empower local farmers through fair trade and steady tomato demand.
  6. To produce 300–500 bottles of tomato ketchup daily in the first production phase.
  7. To promote small-scale industrial development in rural Sindh.

  1. Project Description

The project will establish a semi-automatic ketchup production unit with a production capacity of up to 500 bottles per day. The factory will process tomatoes into pulp, cook and blend it with ingredients like sugar, vinegar, and spices, and then fill and pack it under a local brand name.

The unit will operate under strict hygiene standards and will comply with local food safety regulations.
