Regeneration MCQs with Answers

Welcome to the Regeneration MCQs with Answers. In this post, we are sharing Regeneration Online Test in Biology branch for different competitive exams. Find practice questions with answers of the Regeneration test multiple choice questions with answers here. Each question offers a chance to enhance your knowledge regarding Regeneration.

It is simply the biological process by which organisms replace or restore their damaged or lost tissues, organs, or even entire body parts. This is one of those exciting features that have always existed in species within both the animal and plant kingdoms, where it plays a very fundamental role in healing and recovery from injuries.

The regeneration ability is highly different in various animals. Some species can fully regenerate limbs and other parts of the body, tails, even internal organs, as in the case of starfish or salamanders. Salamanders can grow an entire lost limb with bones, muscles, and nerves. Some species of lizards can grow back their tails. Humans however can only regrow less. Even the liver and other tissues can to some degree regenerate, but most organs and limbs cannot regrow from a very serious injury.

Regeneration is the activation of stem cells and specific growth factors involved in the reconstruction of tissues. It can be epimorphic, as seen with the complete regeneration of complex structures-for example, in amphibians-or compensatory, for example, in liver regeneration in mammals, where only the damaged region of an organ is replaced.

In plants, regeneration is primarily an activity of asexual reproduction in which new plants grown from fragments, such as roots, stems or leaves, ensure survival and propagation of the species.

Indeed, regeneration promises much in medicine, particularly tissue engineering and regenerative therapies in wound healing, restoration of organ function, and enhancing recovery after injury.
