This is actually translation-the process whereby a messenger RNA brings the genetic code to derive a particular protein. That is, it is one of the most important steps in gene expression occurring within the ribosome, the specific cellular structure devoted to protein synthesis.

While translating, ribosomes read sequences of codons-three nucleotides in a row-on the mRNA and find the correct transfer RNA molecules for the sequences. Every molecule of tRNA carries an amino acid. As the ribosome moves up the body of the mRNA, it invites the binding of tRNA anticodons with corresponding sites on the mRNA codons, which then leads to linking the amino acids sequentially to form a polypeptide chain.

A newly synthesized polypeptide folds and undergoes modification to emerge as an active protein. Translation is crucially important since proteins are important functions in the composition, function, and regulation of body tissues and organs.
